Our Story
About Me
Hi! My name is Carter, and I’m 12 years old. I recently found out that I have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which means my brain works a little differently. Sometimes, I have difficulties trying new things and I have challenges keeping my emotions under control. But I have something super special: I am really, really good at trading and selling Pokémon cards! I know all the sets, the rare ones, the values, and even the fun stories behind them. Pokémon helped me make friends and feel proud of something I know a lot about.
I came up with this idea one day when my dad was driving me to visit a new school. I was so nervous about going to the school that I was trying to keep my mind occupied on fun things that I love. I started to think about how I could use my Pokémon knowledge to help others, especially kids and families who might need a little extra support, just like I do. And that’s what led to my idea to start the Charity Card Exchange.
The Opportunity
- Pokémon cards have been around for over 25 years and have recently gotten popular again
- Millions of Pokémon cards from old collections are sitting unused in drawers and shoeboxes all over the country
- Lots of people want to sell or donate their cards but don’t know how, or it feels too complicated
- Most charities don’t know what to do with Pokémon cards, so they miss out on donations
- People miss the chance to get tax deductions when they give away cards
Our Solution
Charity Card Exchange makes it super easy for anyone to donate their Pokémon cards and turn them into good deeds! Here’s how we help:
- We accept Pokémon card donations from anyone—kids, parents, collectors, and fans!
- We use our expert knowledge (that’s me and my team!) to figure out how much each card is worth in the real world
- We give donors a receipt summarizing their donation with information to help them value what their cards might be worth. They can use this info when they file their taxes, helping them get credit for their kindness
- We sell the donated cards to other collectors and fans (online and at events)
- We donate all the proceeds from the sales to charities that help kids and families, especially those dealing with ASD or special needs

Valuation
We carefully check each card, look up what they are worth, and add up the total value.
Receipt
We send you a receipt summarizing what you donated, with information that can help you determine the value so you (or your parents) can save on taxes.
Sell
We list the cards for sale to collectors, fans, and families who want to build their collections and help charity at the same time.
Donate Proceeds
Every single dollar we make from selling the cards goes to awesome charities that support kids and families—especially those who are autistic or have other challenges.
